DIAGRAMS

Diagrams: Welcome

I feel strongly about sharing origami designs. It was through folding and studying other artists' models that I learned to develop my own skills, which I eventually used to create designs of my own. Without other artists sharing their designs, this would not have been possible, so I am a very strong believer in publishing crease patterns and (if possible) diagrams of my models.

This page will be updated with a range of my own deigns. Many of the diagrams are Star Wars models as that was one of my favourite subjects early on. While I will reserve some diagrams for publication, I will regularly update free diagrams on this website. All diagrams on this page are able to be freely shared.

NABOO STARFIGHTER 1.1

Complex

This is a modified version of my Naboo Starfighter with an added cockpit design.

NABOO STARFIGHTER 1.0

Naboo Starfighter 1.0 icon.png

Intermediate

This is the simple version of my Naboo Starfighter based on both a bird base and a frog base

TIE FIGHTER

Tie Fighter icon.png

Intermediate

This is my favourite Star Wars design. It is quick to fold and has a very pleasing result

SLAVE 1 2.0

Slave 1 icon.png

Intermediate

This is mostly a simple model but some shaping can be tricky. Based on a bird base.

JEDI STARFIGHTER

Jedi Starfighter icon.png

Intermediate

This was one of my earlier Star Wars designs. The cockpit is quite nice in this model and I am overall happy with how it turned out.

ETA-2 STARFIGHTER

ETA-2 Starfighter icon.png

Intermediate

The underlying structure used to create the cockpit in this model is also used in my Tree Frog design to create the body

X-WING FIGHTER 1.2

X wing 1.0 icon.png

Complex

This is based on a frog base with a graft around the edge. There is an interesting geometric relationship between the graft and the frog base in the centre which is why the reference is quite complex.

X-WING FIGHTER 2.0

X wing 2.0 icon.png

Complex

This design still uses a frog base but does not use the graft like in version 1.2. In a later version I also modified this design to include a cockpit. The steps to fold the cockpit are available here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/dangermax/42133090951

IMPERIAL SHUTTLE

Imperial Shuttle icon.png

Intermediate

To acheive the three flaps required for the wings I used 30 degree angles creating an equilateral triangle with a small graft.

RABBIT

Rabbit icon.png

Intermediate

This was one of my first models with a colour change. It was published in my first origami book - Max d'Anger Original Works Vol 1

SEAHORSE

Seahorse icon.png

Simple

This model is based on a frog base and was one of my first designs. This model was published in my first origami book - Max d'Anger Original Works Vol 1

TURTLE

Turtle icon.png

Complex

I designed this model in Costa Rica when I was visiting a friend. This model was published in my first origami book - Max d'Anger Original Works Vol 1

SNAIL

Snail icon.png

Intermediate

This model was designed in about 45 minutes in total which, for me at least, is unheard of.

SIMPLE SWAN

Simple Swan icon.png

Simple

A very simple model of a swan that I designed when folding a napkin at a dinner.

SIMPLE BUTTERFLY

Simple butterfly icon.png

Simple

A simple asymmetric butterfly from a waterbomb base. I have since designed two more butterfly models

TRADITIONAL CRANE

Traditional crane icon.png

Simple

This is not my design but I made a tutorial on how to diagram the traditional crane - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixil7tXaON0 - so I am including the diagrams here. Feel free to share and distribute these diagrams

STORK

Stork icon.png

Intermediate

I came across this design when I was designing a flying crane. This is the same model as the flying crane without the grafts along the edge.
